Hi, my name is Patrick Ording. I'm a 24 year old designer and developer from Germany. I lived and studied in the United Kingdom for almost two years before moving back to Germany, where I'm currently living in a small town called Neuburg an der Donau.
My work ranges from offline to online media but even if I'm a multi-disciplinary person I'm happiest when designing and building websites. I'm definitely on the designer side of the programmer/designer fence but I've learned various coding languages since I started my "media career" four years ago. (Visit my Xing profile for more information about my educational background) Most of my skills come from university lectures and from projects that I was involved into but I've also learnt a lot autodidactically by reading books or magazines. Many of the projects that I did involved working with real life clients which has proven invaluable as university lectures can be very theoretical sometimes.
My toolbox includes the Adobe Creative Suite, several pens, a sketchbook and great tunes. I get my inspiration by seeing what others are doing on the web but I also look outside the digital world for fresh ideas. When not looking at a computer screen you'll find me doing sports, listening to podcasts or going to the cinema.
I'm currently looking for a job where I can work in a team of enthusiastic, likeminded individuals, building exciting and user-friendly websites. My core competencies are:
So if you need a passionate person in your team who constantly strives to improve his knowledge feel free to drop me a line. I'm happy to tell you more about me and my projects.
My brief for this site was simple: Showcase projects but make them easy to access. That's why I used meaningful project images and added useful project descriptions. The site was hand-built by me and I hope that the code behind the scenes is as beautiful as the finished page. Currently (i.e. November 2008) this site is only a showcase of my work but I'm planning to set up and add my own blog. Until then check out my tumblelog.
